If your residence is outside the United States and you request delivery to your country of residence, in addition to covering international postage, you may also need to pay “customs clearance fees.” We currently partner with the United States Postal Service.
Q: What are customs clearance fees?
Customs clearance fees are charges levied by logistics companies or customs brokers for handling the customs declaration and paperwork for import and export goods during international shipping. When goods arrive at the customs of the destination country, customs officials need to inspect and process the import declaration to ensure that the goods comply with local import regulations and tax requirements. The customs clearance process may involve payment of taxes, duties, import taxes, and other fees.
Q: When do customers need to pay?
To ensure smooth delivery, the logistics company will initially cover the taxes on your behalf during customs clearance. Therefore, the logistics company will collect the customs clearance fees from you when the package is delivered.
Q: Can customers know the customs clearance fees in advance at checkout?
This fee cannot be estimated in advance by the merchant. The customs clearance fee is influenced by factors such as the value of the goods, national trade policies, and relevant laws and regulations, so the specific amount may vary. The merchant cannot estimate this fee in advance. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
